<p>I just applied RD to Northwestern and I want to get a general idea of my chances of admission. </p>

Sat II: chem, math I, Spanish (taking these in 21 days!)
Honors: Illinois State Scholar, Ap scholar with distinction, NAQT Scholastic Bowl Nationals, IMEA Honor Band and some other smaller stuff
Extracurriculars: Band (Drum Major, 1st Chair Saxophone), NHS (Secretary), Scholastic Bowl (Vice President), Improv Troupe (audition required), Improv Club, Math Team, Musical, Tutoring, Conflict Resolution Team, Student Ambassadors.
Volunteer: around 400 hours
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Hispanic with roots to Mexico
State: IL
School: public school with national ranking
Essays: common app essay I liked a lot and so did everyone that read it. Why NU essay pretty good.

<p>Totally up in the air, nothings gonna hold you back too badly in terms of academics and ECs, (act could be a bit higher), but applicants with higher scores/grades get rejected too. just depends on what you show to be unique about yourself via essays and recs</p>

<p>Id say you have a pretty good shot! I was accepted via ED. I am also hispanic and a first generation college student as you are. we have similar scores and background; i’d say the most important things is to make sure that your essays SEPARATED YOURSELf from the rest of the pile. it also helps to speak spanish i guess! make sure to have put that on your resume. ;).</p>
