Chance me for THE Ohio State University? Please :/

<p>I want to go there so bad, but I just feel hopeless about my chances. Especially seeing other peoples scores so high and reading about how much harder it will be to get in this year due to the Common App. Do I have any chance to get in? Any help would be appreciated, thank you so much for reading this :slight_smile:
(Below my credentials is a paragraph that might be useful to read about my app. It might lower my chances IDK.)</p>

<p>Im Out of State
GPA: 3.55
SAT: M-610 CR-650 W-630
Class rank: Top 25%
Ethnicity/Religious Affiliation: White, Jewish (From what i read, TOSU has a low percentage of Jewish Students, is that true?)</p>

<p>Classes: 6 IB this year, 7 college credits from a college nursing class I took. All A’s and B’s. I take the highest offered classes, I have never taken a class that is not honors or IB (except my school does not offer Honors Spanish 1, 2, or 3. Only IB Span 4 which I did not take. I took 3 years of Spanish, 1 year Latin. Random fun fact lol)</p>

Health Occupational Students of America (VP, and treasurer)
Diversity (Treasurer)
NRN Volunteer (Go to towns with natural disaster devastation to help)
30 Hours as Animal Shelter Volunteer
60 Hours volunteer at NICU and Day care at local hospital
Full Time Job as a nanny
Member and act EMT and Firefighter at Local firehouse
Over 100 hours of shadowing local health professionals (I wanna be a nurse.)</p>

<p>Extras:
I got accepted to a select medical summer camp
I have my CNA and EMT and am getting my Basic Firefighting certification</p>

<p>Recs and Essays were strong :slight_smile: Im a legacy, but I heard it doesn’t count. Que Sera :P</p>

I was planning to apply Sept 1st, until I got my first SAT scores back. I had to take the Oct SAT and planned to have my app complete by Nov 1st, but after some issues with my school office and tOSU office (no ones fault, I know ppl are so stressed this time of year.) my app ended up not being completed till DEC 1ST!!! Ugh :frowning: Does that scr-w me over? </p>

<p>Hey, yall can be brutally honest too! I have applied to 10 schools and already been accepted to U of Alabama (Honors and Nursing schools :slight_smile: ) and Loyola-New Orleans so Im not doomed if I dont get into tOSU!</p>

<p>I think because you’re out of state, you only have an outside chance. I know what you mean tough. I look at other people’s resumes here and they look so much more impressive than mine.

<p>@cierrapowers, my D is a Freshman this year, she is OOS, white, Jewish - she met a girl across the hall, also Jewish and the two “lit” her felt menorah prior to coming home. So an answer to “low percentage” that’s 2 on one floor. I can’t think they are alone. Also, my D’s friends loved celebrating with her. As for your chances, I think you have a good shot at it. I know the minimum requirements have increased, but your SATs look good and same with your GPA. My D attended one of the top public HS in PA, all honors classes, … try not to stress yourself out. Hopefully you will hear soon. My D is also legacy which they don’t even ask about. I think it also depends on what you hope to major in. Good luck and I hope for all good things for you, especially seeing “Accepted” on your App Status!!!</p>

<p>Thanks for telling me about the jewish stuff! I had read somewhere about large colleges with low percentage of jewish students and OSU was on the list, but it was a while ago. Its really nice to know that thats not necessarily true!!!</p>
