Hey, all! I'm a senior currently and plan on applying to mostly the UC schools as a biomedical/bio engineering major.
My question is how optimistic should I be, considering a lot of engineering programs are impacted at the UCs.

ACT: 30 (retaking in December; expect a 34)
wGPA: 3.7
uwGPA: 3.5
AP World: 5
AP Enviro: 4

This year I'm taking AP Bio, AP Gov/H Econ, AP eng lit, pre-calc, World religions, psych, and chorus

I've taken mainly honors/AP classes in high school, though my wGPA doesn't really reflect that because my high school doesn't weigh honors classes :(. So my GPA is somewhat deflated. My school also dosen't allow us to take AP before junior year.
My SoCal High school is super competitive and rigorous

ECs:

1 year swim/waterpolo
1 year tennis
3 years city league tennis
2 years school television crew
4 yrs executive officer of three clubs, founded 1of those
Campaign manager of my school's Amnesty International club
helped teach a girls' compsci camp for two years
1 year science fair
1 year chorus
2 years student council
Also have extensive family commitments (2 yr old brother whom I babysit every school night)

I am a good writer and am nearly finished with my UC essays, which I think will be one of the strongest points of my application. I'm applying to the following schools:
UCI
UCD
UCSD
UCSC
UCB
UCR
UCLA
U Washington

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!!
