using the idea from my uc #2 (seen below)

UC Personal Statements (pretty good)

1: writing about how growing up as an identical twin has affected me

2: writing about a tutoring experience for NHS. For the past 3 months i have been tutoring two spanish-speaking exchange students that do not speak english. i helped them prepare for the mathematics portion of the california high school exit exam (spanish is not my native language, but i was able to use the spanish i have been learning during the past four years to successfully communicate with them, teach them what they needed to know)

for private schools, i will have AMAZING rec letters.

once again, please give any insight that you have on my application/chances
i really appreciate it.
thanks.

I think your chances of getting into most of your schools are great !
You really shouldn’t worry so much.

Pulling the whole minority string is always helpful.

“Pulling the whole minority string is always helpful.”

???

How about UC weighted? I think you’re in for all the UC’s except UCLA and UCB may be a tossup.
I think you have a good shot at all the schools you’re applying to.

thanks the for replies.
My uc gpa is what I wrote above… 4.115 (I think)

in for sure at all except cornell, B, and LA

in which case, at la and berk you’ll probably get in

i’d say match/high match for those

cornell i think you have good chances if you have great essays

good luck!

please chance back?

Pretty decent chance.Good luck!:)

thanks for all the replies
if anyone could answer this question, it would be great:

do i have a better chance at berkeley or cornell?
i know that cornell is an ivy and all, but i think with my ec’s and my rec letters , i might have a better chance at that rather than just the numbers that berkeley looks at
correct me if im wrong please

i still think that bc ur a Cal resident, it would def. be easier for u to get into Cornell. chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/831718-can-i-get-into-johns-hopkins-engineering-ed-3.html</a></p>

i dont know much about jh :[
thanks for the advice though

anyone else please?

I think UCLA and UCB might be small reaches, but overall you have wonderful stats and should have little problem getting into the schools you listed.

I think you’re going to have an easier time getting into Cornell than Berkeley. I’m not quite sure, but doesn’t Cornell have a higher acceptance rate anyway?

good luck :)

well Cornell and berkeley are both around 21% I think…
I just know that berkeley is more about numbers whereas Cornell is looking or more well-rounded people

any percentages/approximations about my chances at b la and Cornell?

Sorry, I wasn’t sure if it was UC weighted or just weighted because you listed Cornell in there, and I’m not familiar with their weighting system.

Anyways, there’s a great site called ucstatfinder.com. If you look up the info for your school you can see the ave. gpa & sat scores for admits from there. Your gpa is slightly lower than Cal’s average, I believe, but the difference is negligible. Your ACT is also great. Good luck!

thanks for that site!
im so nervous for march :[

bump…

I think you have wonderful stats and have nothing to worry about!
I think out of Berkeley, LA and Cornell, you will get into one, and into most of your others!
So don’t worry, yeah? (:

oh and chance back?

thanks rumjhum :]

getting into either berkeley, la or cornell will make me very, very happy.
lets hope that i get at least one or more :P

anyone else?
thanks in advance

cornell, ucla, and ucb are all matches/high matches. Everything else is a match/safety. You have a very good shot at all the colleges you’re applying to =)

please chance me back!
