I'm applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCD, and UCSB

Majoring in: Economics and "Undeclared/Business Administration/Letters of Science" for UCB, since they provided that option. My alternate was Poly sci.

Ethnicity: Vietnamese-American. I guess the Southeast Asian background won't hurt me as much as being Chinese or Korean, but I don't think it'll help me.

UCLA doesn't admit/deny you based on your major. It's not an impacted major at UCSD. I'm not sure about the rest, though.

UC GPA UW: 4.00
UC GPA W: 4.38

My grades show an upward trend because I received 2 B's my first semester of freshman year, and got straight A's since then.

SAT I: 2140

SAT II's are not required this year, but I heard they might help you. Mine are average, nothing good enough to make me look better.

Sorry, I don't want to list them out. I'll just summarize

ECs: Good; hold office positions in 3. Shows leadership.
Com. Service: Very strong
Essays: Was told that the first one was very good. I thought the other one was good, too.

I'll probably go to UCI or UCSD, if I'm lucky enough to be admitted. I'd love to get into UCLA or UCB though.

i agree, i think you could get into UCI or UCSD , since i dont know exactly what your ECs are, im mainly gonna base it off of your academics, i think u have a good chance at UCLA or UCB… my brother and cousin got into UCLA and UCB, respectively, with stats much lower than yours. but your scores and gpa are compeitive. and u have leadership evidence… but do SAT II’s if u still have time and get better scores on the average tests, its better to send in at least one good score of SATII than none at all in my opinion, especially if u took classes that prepare you for it. but assuming ur class rigor was loaded , i think u have a good shot…

please chance me back!!! i want to go to UCLA too, and i have other colleges on my list…

Haha, thanks argh, I sure hope so! That makes sense though, since every UC has 44% Asian students.

That’s the thing I like about the UC’s. Even LA and Cal aren’t elitist. They don’t have that stupid legacy system like the Ivy League schools do.
