Chance me for the UC's please!

My weighted GPA from my first 3 years is a 4.34. My UC GPA is a 4.4, and my highest SAT is a 2050 - 620 Reading, 710 Math, 720 Writing. (Taking the December ACT, hoping for a 31+, maybe even a 32.)

I also attend a very rigorous and competitive private, college prep high school.

I'm pretty light on EC's - my only EC's are Work Grant (providing 35 hours of service to my school each year in return for the financial aid they provide me), as well as doing newspaper for 2 months junior year (I quit after trying it out), as well as being a tutor for other students at my school (just senior year, 2 hrs/wk, 10 wks).

I also have a weeklong immersion trip where we repaired houses affected by flooding in West Virginia, along with 25-ish community service hours. I also participated in a weeklong engineering summer camp at Santa Clara University (Educational Prep Program).

I applied to Berkeley, LA, Santa Barbara, Irvine, and Davis.

Thanks!

I think your grades are fine as is, but you need more EC to cover up for your SAT. I hear that UCs don’t really look at essays, it’s all about stats.

What is your major??? That really makes a big difference in the UC systems.

Your GPA looks great but your SAT is a bit low.

If you are going for EE/CS for example, you will need a much higher SAT (particularly in Math) than if you are applying for PolySci. Frankly 710 is low for engineering.

Anyway, your chances are very good (90%) for UCI, UCSB and UCD for most majors.

For UCB and UCLA, your chances are still good at around 70% if you are not going for those super impacted degrees (engineering, CS, etc).

Your GPA is great but your SAT is below Berkeley’s median.

Your chances of you getting into the College of Engineering is small, so avoid applying to CoE. Getting into L&S would be possible though.

You have potential to getinto all the UCs!!! Just not Engineer because the major is so impacted (for UCLA and UCB)

Chance me : http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1439242-chance-me-uc-east.html

Yes to Davis, Irvine and Santa Barbara. Maybe to UCB and UCLA…they are harder to get into. You might start at one UC and try transferring. I got into Davis with a 4.0 but I also played sports all through HS. Best of luck!

UCSB, UCI, UCD: Match
UCLA and UCB: High Match

I think you have a good shot at the top two, even though your EC’s are a bit weak. What are your SAT II scores?
Chance me back?
