Hi I’m applying to all the uc’s except for Merced. I am also applying to cal poly slo, csu San Marcos, csu Fullerton, and San Diego state. My intended major is environmental studies/science.
GPA:
UC gpa: 4.26 capped
Weighted gpa: 4.03
Unweighted gpa: 3.8
I’ve taken 6 ap’s between 10-12
4 ap’s 10-11
Test scores:
Act composite: 25
Super score: 26
New sat: scores come out next week/ I’m guessing 1250+ hopefully 1300+
Decent extracurriculars: 200+ hours
Please chance me for each school! Thanks
Your UC GPA looks competitive but your ACT scores are on the low side for several of the UC’s.
Based on your current stats:
CSUSM: Safety
CSUF: Low Match
UCR/UCSC/SDSU: Match
UCI/UCD: High Match
UCSB/UCSD: Low Reach
UCB/UCLA: Reach
If you can get your SAT test scores in the 1300+ range, then UCI/UCD are closer to Match schools. Much will depend upon the competitiveness of the in-coming Freshman class and how your EC’s and essays are received. Do you have any EC’s that are Environmentally related? I think this will help your chances at UCD especially.
Good Luck.
Thank you for your response! And not really. My Ec consist of link crew, hospital volunteer, nhs, engineering internship…etc. I’ve just tried a bunch of different things, will this hurt my chances for environmental science?
No it shouldn’t hurt you if your EC’s are not specific for Environmental but my son that is at UC Davis had an ACT of 26 and he got into UCD/UCI/UCSC with low test scores, high GPA and focused EC’s for Environmental science. Thought it could help.
