Chance me for the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities?

Specifically for Biological Sciences / CLA.

UW GPA - 3.0
Weighted - 3.15
ACT - 28
Math - 31
Reading - 25
Science - 26
English - 30
Writing - 36 [if this is even considered]

I am male, and a pacific islander / Asian. If that helps.

I also live in-state.

Taken four AP courses from sophomore to junior year.
AP Stats
AP Psychology
AP Calculus AB
AP Language and Comp

I have taken whatever honors classes that were available.

In addition, I’ve passed a college engineering PLTW class at a technical school.

Enrolled in four more AP courses for senior year, so it is still rigorous.

Extra-curricular activites -

Captain of the debate team. Semi-finalist at national qualifiers and state.
Captain of Chess Club and nationally ranked.
Captain of extemporaneous speaking in speech.
Participated in writing club.
Participated in knowledge bowl.
Participated in key club [little community hours to speak of, perhaps 10]
Participated in varsity tennis.
Participated in spectrum. Don’t identify as LGBTQA+, but I have gone and supported their meetings.

Do I even have a shot at the university? I plan on re-taking the ACT on October and shooting for a 32 - 34, and I’m confident now in at least getting a 30. Obviously GPA is the crux of my entire application here—is this enough of a deterrent to stop me from being admitted? I don’t have any extraneous circumstances for my grade slippage other than my involvement with activities and sheer laziness.

Thanks beforehand!

Bump.

Buump.

I don’t think it will keep you from being admitted. It may look like the typical “lazy smart kid” to ad coms but if you write good essays and get good letters of rec you have a good shot. If you get a 30 it might help off set your low GPA.
