Why: I grew up with my mother who suffered with mental disorders. I do not want others to suffer how my mother and I did. My dream is to relieve human suffering for the young and old, the over-represented and under-represented, for any creed, any past, anyone or anything possible of feeling pain. I may not be able to help everyone, for our lives are short, but I will devote my life to helping those who suffered what I did – mental illnes

I think your chances are good since they like to see community engagement, self-betterment, and diverse qualities/ unique situations. Make sure you get an interview with an admissions advisor and explain to him or her how your experiences have influenced your evolution as a person and have made you “ever-better.”

@tizzfinn Thanks!

Are you taking any classes right now? Like at CC or something?
The GED won’t be a big deal by itself, but if you go two years without taking any classes, they may be less willing to take you.

@annana I received my GED about 2.5 months after leaving high school.

Yeah, but are you enrolled in CC or at least doing some coursework?

@annana I enrolled in classes to receive a medical assisting license and I’m beginning an internship.

bump anymore opinions?
