I applied for 3 cal states in total, no uc’s.
- Cal Poly Pomona
- Cal State Long Beach
- San Diego State University
I was wondering if I could get my chances of getting in?
CSU GPA: 4.04
AP Classes (up until junior year) = 3
Honors Classes (up until junior year) = 3
SAT: 1250 (Single sitting) 1260 (Super Scored)
Thank you!
Edit: Forgot to add I am out of state! Also Business - Finance Major.
CSU eligibility index = 4.04 * 800 + 1260 = 4492
However, it does not look like those three CSUs publicly list current or historical CSU eligibility index thresholds for admission.
Based on your EI, you are competitive for all the CSU’s but no guarantees.
You can afford OOS fees at around $40K/ year to attend?
you are a competitive applicant for all of them
good luck
Thank you everyone!
Gumby, I will have 20k a year in terms of help so I’ve started to apply to scholarships left and right and started working to hopefully be able to afford it!
@Travvers1, unfortunately, the best funding and aid comes from the schools themselves.
Because you are an OOS student, you don’t qualify for any state funding as a non-resident.
Instate students qualify for Cal Grants and university grants. You need to come up with $20K per year plus expenses. California is an expensive place to live, especially for the schools you’ve picked.
oh yes I understand @“aunt bea” . I’ve just been applying to scholarships from outside sources and locally. My parents are willing to help me with half (20k) and I am currently working for my own money to spend.
@Travvers1: Just be aware most outside and local scholarships are usually only for a year. You want to make sure you have funding for all 4 years before accepting any schools offer. You do not want to put yourself in a situation where you are half way through with your degree and then have to drop out due to costs.
