Do I have any chances at all?

Sorry, but not looking good. Very low UW GPA, mediocre SAT, and anti-URM. Plus hardly any EC’s…

I’m applying to CS in several of these schools too. Honestly your academics aren’t the best and you didn’t compensate for it in EC’s. Michigan has a high acceptance rate though so you might have a chance

@cappex @TheInternational Are there any colleges you guys would recommend that would be a good academic fit for me?

A few tiers below… Like Fordham

Unfortunately, your stats are very low for all of the schools you listed. I also saw that you were interested in UT Austin. It is extremely difficult for out-of-state students with your stats to get in as well. Have you looked at some of other in-state schools like Michigan State? I would look at the mid-range scores for any school you are interested in to see if you fall within it before you apply. Good luck!

@3Pagodas Yeah, you’re right. Michigan State was my safety and I was accepted there a couple months ago w/ a few scholarships. I might as well just go there.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

@jake0810 Michigan State is a great option for you. My husband is a director of software development for a major tech company. With Computer Science, some brand name schools will obviously open some doors for interviews right out of college. However, it ultimately comes down to what you know and what you are capable of doing. What college you attend will mean less and less as you gain experience in the workforce. Make the most of your classes, learn all you can on your own, and seek out summer internships. Congratulations on your scholarships! Wishing you all the best!
