chance me for these engineering schools!!!

okay so im going to apply to the following schools this year for either mechE or aero-
usc
ucla
uc-irwine
penn state
ohio state
uiuc
michigan-ann arbor
purdue

Stats:-
sat1-1980(cr+m=1350)
sat subject tests-giving in october(will likely get 700+ on math2 and chem)
gpa- im an international student so we dont have a gpa system. my grades in the 10th grade national examination are 95.2%(90+ in all subjects)
my grades in the 11th grade are horrible(69%)
Extra cirriculars:-
4 yrs soccer(captain senior year)
4 years tennis
regional debate competition
creative writing competition
a couple of MUN's(was the director of my schools MUN)came 1st in school in a national science olympiad(253rd in state)

Recommendations-great
so can anyone give me an idea as to whether i will get into any of these schools?
thank you in advance :D

I would recommend retaking the SAT for UCLA.

what about the others???
oh, and im asian, i dont know if that will make a difference

How is the break down of the scores?
For most if not all schools, you need a higher score for engineering, particularly for Math. Your current score is low even for non-engineering program at UMich, for instance.

breakdown-
math-700
cr-650
w-630
is it low for All the schools???

Try to raise your scores. Engineering schools usually have higher admission stat than the whole school. For instance, the mid 50 ACT for UIUC engineering is 31-34 whereas the whole school is around 3 points lower. For UMich, it is about 100 points higher in SAT for Engineering than LSA. Also, try to score high in SAT2 Math2. ME at Purdue is also very competitive, but you may give it a try.

what about penn state, ohio state??
and maybe ucsd?

Your GPA isn’t very good at all. I would say
Penn state- low reach
Ohio state- reach

But never take these chance me threads too seriously they are all just suppositions.

well,
the thing is,my school gives everyone really bad grades. therefore i have a 69% in my 11th grade. the person who comes 1st has a 75% so its like that
if you see my 10th grade score which is 95.2%. this score is graded by the national board and not my high school and is therefore the true assessment of my grades.
also, inspite of my 69% i am in the top 5% of my high school class, which tells you how low my school grades its students.
will the uni’s take this into consideration??
if they do what chance do i have??
and what if they dont??

Then don’t worry about your GPA. Your class rank and school profile would correct that for you.

my school doesnt give a rank, but its possible for me to get a letter saying i am in the top 5%, will that help??
nd can someone please give me a clear idea regarding each of the schools ive listed above,i would really appreciate that

Sorry about my earlier post your GPA comparatively is great. The GC rec and class rank should show that. Get you SAT up a little for ucla but the rest are matches or high matches

i just hope that once i submit my applications the schools see that my class rank is good beacuse if they dont see that most of them will reject me based on my 11th grade percentge(though the 10th grade percentage is 95+):stuck_out_tongue:
i am not so keen on applying to uc-irvine and was thinking to replace it with ucsd, what will my chances be at ucsd??
and can someone suggest some other good engineering programs(preferably top 30) that i can apply to?
