Anways please honestly tell me my chances and how i can improve them.
I do not need financial aid by the way. What are your opinioins on Stanford and Chicago Early Action programs?

THank You!

Why isn’t Tufts on your list, it would be a good match as a legacy.

Good shot at Illinois and Berkeley, reasonable chance at Duke, Chicago and Cornell. Stanford and Brown are significant reaches. All would be helped by higher CR and SATII scores.

^ Agree with that grouping, but just want to add that Illinois and Cal aren’t safeties, but more low match/match.

Okay sure thing. Will probably take the SAT again to get a higer CR score by around 30.
I visited the Stanford campus and talked to admission officers and they told me SAT II scores were’nt greatly looked at if you were international especially if you did A Levels.

By the way does Early Action to Stanford or Chicago enhance chances for International students who don’t require financial aid?

Stanford - reach
Duke - low reach/high match
University Of Chicago - low reach/high match
Cornell - low reach/ high match
Brown- reach
Illinois at Urbana Champagne - match

Strong candidate. I’m resenting your saying that A Levels are harder than AP or IB though. Several teachers and A-Level/IB forums have told me that while some A-Level subjects may be harder, on a whole, the IB Diploma path is harder.
Berkeley - match

You should consider applying SCEA to Stanford if Stanford is your first choice.

SCEA , yeah i was thinking about that. Does it enhance your chances of getting into Stanford considerably?
Would any of you know how many International students apply to the schools i listed by any chace?

The schools you mentioned have numerous international applicants applying each year. Harvard has around 3000 international applicants each year (I read this in a thread) out of which only 150 are accepted.

SCEA doesn’t actually enhance your chances of admission although the acceptance rate is higher. SCEA applicant pool is ‘self selective’. But surely give it a shot. Another option is applying Early Decision (ED) to one of the other choices. The option is binding and you can’t compare financial aid packages but it will surely increase your prospects for acceptance if you’re committed to them.

Ah but i don’t need financial aid so i guess that should play to my benefit?

One more question, colleges read the Common Application essay as well as their supplement’s essays right?

Yes, colleges read both.

Yes, colleges must read both of the essays otherwise its pointless to write both.

And yes, not asking for fin. aid will be your biggest plus point

Okay thank you so much.
Any other particular advice you got for an international student like myself??

P.S. I’m guessing the fact that i live in Dubai and have dual Swedish and British nationalities also is a plus?

The biggest plus is that you’re applying with no financial aid. The biggest minus is that you’re British as there are tonnes of British people applying to U.S. Colleges
