Sorry, I know this is a really long post.
Thanks to everyone who replies- I really appreciate this!

Your score and course rigor are good, but your GPA is a bit low. How is your class rank? What is your intended major? I assume you are NJ resident.

Our school doesn’t do class rank actually, but I’m probably around the top 15%. I’m not really sure about majors- probably something with humanities. And yes I’m an NJ resident. Do you think my GPA will drag my overall chances down a lot? Or could I make up for it in other areas?

I think you have very strong ECs and test scores, but your GPA is pretty low, which will definitely hurt you at these more competitive schools. However, because the application process is holistic at all of your schools, you’ll still be a pretty good applicant.Most of these schools are reach schools, just because of the acceptance rates, but you should be pretty good at BU/USC

@Redducky22
Yea I think I’m defs going to try to add more matches on my college list. I’m just kind of confused because when I google average gpa for say cornell or something it says 4.04, so would that not be like a reliable number?
Thanks for the reply btw! :slight_smile:

Do you also have safeties in addition to the list here? Have you run the NPC on these schools and are your parents okay with the results?

You have a few really good in-state choices in NJ.

Yeah, but that also factors in the GPA of athletes/people who have an in and stuff, the people who I’ve met/know of who have gotten into these schools have had GPAS in the 4.3-4.6 range. But your ECs are super strong and stuff, so you’ll definitely still be a strong applicant

@DadTwoGirls yea I already went over a college list with my parents and they’re cool with all of these

@Redducky22 that makes sense, thank you so much!

For UMICH, recalculate your uwGPA without subgrades, if you have mostly A- that make you GPA 3.7, you may actually be viewed as near 4.0 after the recalculation. This is going to make a big difference in admission at UMich.

You have a very good chance of getting into Boston University, and I would be surprised if you didn’t get in. I also think you have a good chance at NYU. Good luck!
