Within those schools, I will be applying to Plan II Honors, Baylor to Baylor Medical Track, and Rice/Baylor Combined Med program, respectively. Also, I’m not sure if I should take the ACT or not, so please share your opinions on that, too.

wow 3.88GPA and not in top 25%. That is a pretty competitive school. Rice is a prestigious school, but you appear to have the Standardized test grade for it. Your workload is slightly below par IMO, but still very strong. I dont know about UT Austin and Baylor enough to give you an answer. And as for the ACT, i would recommend taking it. it cant hurt. I was big on take as many Standardized tests as you can. Good Luck!

I think you are good for all, really good stats

the rice/baylor program is one of the best and hardest in the country. While i would apply for it, know that the chances of being accepted into that are very low even for 4.0/2400 kids. I’ve heard they focus especially on exposure to the medical field for those types of programs too, so consider volunteering at a hospital or something if you want a good shot.

ok thanks for the advice everyone!

UNC Chapel Hill and George Washington University

I’d say Rice is for sure the biggest reach, the only thing holding you back would be your rank, but seeing your GPA you’re obviously at a very competitive school, (haha I can relate). Your extracurriculars are really good and show that you’re dedicated to a medical track. I don’t think that your demographics would give you any pull, but would say that you have a great chance getting into your programs at all three schools! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice both of you!

Try Pitt

Will look into it, thank you!

I think you have a good chance at the places you mentioned. There is nothing that really stands out in your ECs which may make Rice a little bit of a reach, but you are definitely still competitive. You have similar stats to me and I’m looking at the combined med program too. Good luck to the both of us

ive been getting mixed feedback on my ECs–some think it’s my weakest point, others think it’s my strongest point
let’s hope the ad coms go with the latter lol
good luck to you too!
