Other info: I am applying to some schools that are in my state, ive heard that if you live instate you have a higher chance of getting in? I live in NC so would I have a higher chance of getting into DUKE, UNC, ELON?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

bumppppppppppppppppppp

You show an upward trend, which is good. I’d say your rigor could put you in the running for elite schools. You have a really high chance of getting into UNC and similar schools, I think. I think increased odds for in-state schools depend on the state, (I heard UT was required to take the top 10% of each class in Texas somewhere), but generally these schools are cheaper for in-state students. Since you only have 1 C, it’s a bit of an anomaly so it probably won’t kill you, but then again, at the ivies, there are so many perfect clones applying that it might actually make a difference. Ivy grades are all so high though that if you can offer something really special other than grades, they’ll take you with the one C. You have lots of ECs, so one of them must mean enough to you to use as a passion. Good luck with your search!

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1317388-chance-junior-will-chance-back-if-you-ask.html

You’d be pretty fit for any school. Obviously Yale, Princeton, MIT are all reach schools for anyone, but you’ll have a pretty solid application.

Thanks! Im not too sure about my gpa because its a 3.7…but I do show a major upward trend and strong EC’s. So hopefully they can see past my academics.

Shoo-in for UNC and the other NC schools, except Duke where you are 50/50 (due to NC status). Unlikely at the Ivies, Chicago, or MIT in my view due to lots of B’s and no real major achievements despite lots of ECs.

If you bump up SAT and score well on SAT II’s you may have a shot at Penn if you apply ED.
