Chance me for these schools?

Could you all chance me for: UVA, Virginia Tech, William & Mary, University of Richmond, VCU, and George Mason

I am a rising senior and I am instate for Virginia.

SAT: 1880 (670CR, 560M, 650W) 1st time. 1860 (630CR, 580M, 650W) 2nd time. 1900 superscored. I might retake it again, but I am currently undecided.

SAT II’s: I will be taking the Math II and U.S. History subject tests in the fall.

GPA: 3.9UW/4.37W

Rank: Top 10%

EC’s: FBLA (Treasurer, expecting higher office next year), Rotary Interact Club (Club Communications Officer, expecting higher office next year), National Honor Society. I volunteer at the local hospital and humane society. I also participate in a youth group at my church and I have also participated in mission’s trips with this group. I have a part time job as a host at a restaurant.

I have taken the most rigorous schedule offered at my school, however my school does not offer AP’s so the majority of my classes are dual enrollment through the local CC. I will most likely finish my Associates Degree in high school, but I will be applying as a freshman.

11th Grade: College Chemistry, College U.S. History, College PreCalc, College Calculus, Honors English, Public Speaking

12th Grade (expected): College Biology, College English and Lit, College Statistics, College Government, College Entrepreneurship, and Principles of Engineering.

I am mainly interested in going on to medical school, but I have also considered Engineering. I have tried to keep my options open because of this.

Also, if anyone could help me add some safeties to my list that would be great.

Retaking the SAT for the 3rd time does not look good. You should try out the ACT, because your SAT score is a bit on the low side. Would you consider UC schools?

You are on the low side for all of those schools, but you definitely have a chance. I do think some safeties are in order, but I don’t really have any to suggest. You would want to research how likely it is to gt into medical school from any safeties you choose.

I’m currently a student at William & Mary. They primarily consider CR+M so if you are sticking with the SAT, you’ll want to bump that math score up as the others have mentioned that it is slightly on the low side. The great thing about the state of virginia is that you have many great public schools at your disposal, so that’s a great place to start if looking for safeties.Assuming that your grades include your dual enrollment courses, your UW GPA is quite impressive however. Continue to remain involved in your ECs and definitely get involved in FBLA competitions (although I may be confusing this with DECA) if possible. Great chance to show what you are made of. Additionally, write good essays as those are important to distinguish yourself among the crowd

@cjchasinglife I would consider them, but I’m looking to stay on the east coast.

@shawnspencer I’m considering doing the alumni interview. Would you recommend that? I’ve made all A’s through all of my dual enrollment courses. The only thing keeping me from a 4.0 is that a few of my 8th grade courses were factored in to my GPA. Thank you for your advice!

I think interviewing is a great idea if you are interested in the school. It’s a good chance to show a different side of yourself and to talk to people that actually go or have gone there! I actually haven’t done an alumni interview with William and Mary, but the ones I have gone to have been pretty chill.

These links are mostly about on-campus interviews, but from what I can tell from talking to people who have done interviews in the past, it is really casual and William and Mary students often like to put a creative spin on things. It’s not supposed to be stressful at all.
