Chance me for these schools

I am an upper-middle class white male hailing from a competitive, but large public school in the great state of Illinois. My mother went to Indiana, and my father has an MBA. Will likely not be applying for any aid.

ACT: 33 - 34 if superscored (35 Math, 33 Science, 32 Reading, 34 English, Essay 9)
SAT: 1440 - Did not study for at all, will not submit unless I need to.
Weighted GPA (Cumulative): 4.46 (5.33 Scale)
Unweighted: I honestly do not know and cannot seem to find the information easily
Class Rank: School doesn’t do that

Awards: Get ready for…National Spanish Honor Society, Honor Roll every semester of high school…wow so exciting!

ECs: I have had a large variety over my time, but I will only talk about those that I have put large time into.

Competitive Sports: Baseball, freshman and sophomore year. Got cut junior year. Played on a tournament team so won a few small tournaments and had some fun.

Intramural Sports: Golf, Paddle Tennis, and Basketball
All of these are intramural sports, but they all have pretty significant commitments, usually two, occasionally three times per week for a couple hours. I have done all of these sports all four years.

Academic Related: I am part of the Model UN Club, which is pretty laid-back at our school. We aren’t a school where it’s a class or everyday club or something, just once a week meetings with some conferences. I have attended numerous conferences, but no awards :frowning: Another academic-related thing is hard to explain, but I’ll try. Basically, our school offers this program where in your second semester of senior year, you can do a year long project where you either pass or fail. These projects range greatly, from learning how to make clothes, to helping build homes, to working as a dental assistant. As a junior I was essentially one of the judges that worked with seniors to make sure their projects were going well, as well as do a final evaluation of each project (five assigned to me).

Work: Throughout the whole year I work eight hours a week at a local pizza place. I mainly take orders over phone, as well as do a bunch of miscellaneous work. Not too exciting. Started in April 2017. During the spring-fall I work as a baseball umpire for the local youth league. Not to toot my own horn, but I am one of the more respected and experienced umpires, as I have been doing it since freshman year. I have received a raise as an umpire from the umpire director. Additionally, during the summer I work as a baseball camp counselor for little kids. I started this between JR-SR year. I basically have to keep kids under control and respectful. Definitely as hard as you think, Oh yeah, and I also am supposed to teach them baseball, but sometimes they’re too busy running around aimlessly or fighting each other.

Other ECs: Was part of Church Youth Group freshman and sophomore year before work got in the way. Helped organized small events and fundraisers.
Part of the local “Buddy Baseball” program that gives kids with disabilities a chance to play baseball with the volunteers in a safe space. This program runs during the summer once a week and is really my only volunteer work.
I am essentially a teacher’s assistant for our Financial Management class. I help teach the class as well as do some random work and help students who need it. Talk bi-weekly with the teacher to talk about what we’re doing and what I’ll be doing.

APs: Nada until senior year (Yeah yeah whatever kill me). AB Calculus and Economics this year (Will be taking micro and macro exam). I hope to get good scores?

Okay! Tired of reading? Congrats on getting this far. Now you get to look at my list, and what I think of them.

Middlebury (Reach), Bates (Reach), Villanova (Reach), Lafayette (Target), Syracuse (Target), Bentley (Safety), Indiana (Safety), UMN (Safety)

So…tell me what you think! Any questions? Ask away! …I probably missed something…

Put too much writing into this to not get any responses! Bump!

You have a great shot --mostly because you are out of state. They will want your money.

What about UIUC, Uchicago, Northwestern, UIC

I think you have a good list! Are you applying ED to your top choice?

Any idea what you would like to study?

Looking in major in economics #1, then business #2…after that I’m not sure

A curve ball:
Never saw this on any of your listings, but if you have not, you might want to look at Babson College in Wellesley. This is a niche college with a very entrepreneurial bent. Very international student body, but I could not find language studies. See http://www.babson.edu/Pages/default.aspx

Clark University might be an excellent backup. Very strong in geography, long established Economics department through PhD, Great college community environment. See https://www.clarku.edu/

You have a fine list, Just trying to get you to jump off the “SATS are everything” train.
