Chance me for these schools?

Hey, I'm a sophomore at a large but mediocre public school in NJ.

SAT-
Never taken it for real, 1950 on a practice (660M 650CR 640W) but I didn't take it seriously or study at all. 203 on my PSAT.

Schools-
MIT
Caltech
USC Berkeley
Rutgers
Cornell
Stanford
Cooper Union
Penn State

I'm considering majoring in either chemical or biomedical engineering, or maybe in mathematics. I'm open to any suggestions regarding schools.

Thank you for your time.

Your academics in HS are good, but the SAT score will almost surely not cut it at an ivy. You definitely want to retake the SAT and try the ACT. Your extracurriculars are probably the strongest part of your application right now; the hospital work is impressive and you have job experience.

This is assuming you continue to do well in school and you can get your test scores up.

MIT - huge reach
Caltech - huge reach
UC Berkeley - high match
Rutgers - safety
Cornell - high reach
Stanford - huge reach
Cooper Union - match
Penn State - safety

I think you might want to consider looking at schools that are somewhere between UC-Berkley and Cornell as reach schools. I’m not sure anyone of your current reach choices are very realistic.

What the hell is USC Berkely :P
