Chance me for top 20 LACs and Ivies!! :D

Hello everyone!

I am a senior in high school and I am applying to Amherst, Bowdoin, Dartmouth, Swarthmore (legacy), Wesleyan, Williams, Wellesley, and Vassar---as well as state schools.

Here are my stats:
State: Mississippi
Sex: Female
G.P.A: 3.82 UW/ 4.56 W (4.77777 would be the equivalent to 4.0)---I got straight As last year and have straight As for the first semester of this year.
S.A.T: 2100 (720W 650M 730R)
S.A.T. 2: 700 Biology 760 US History
National Hispanic Scholar
A.P.s: At my school you cannot take APs until junior year and you can only take a maximum of 3 A.P. classes a year. By the time I graduate I will have taken 6 AP courses. I scored a 3 on all my junior A.P. test (no need to tell me that a 3 is too low) and hoping to get 4's on the three I take this year.
Rank: 20/200--I go to a competitive all-girl Catholic school.

Extracurriculars:
-300+ volunteer hours (building house, volunteering at museums, tutoring at an inner-city school) for which I received my school's community service award.
-This past summer I received a research grant to research a neurodegenerative diseases at the local university and presented my research at a symposium. My research mentor (head of the psychobiology department) wrote me an awesome letter of recommendation and I will also be submitting my abstract and poster presentation as part of my application.
-Speech and Debate: 3 years. I am the 4th best debater in my state
-Multicultural club: 3 years- Vice president
-Science Club: 4 years
-I founded a lending library corner at a local center that helps children with parents who suffer from drug and substance abuse.
-National Honor Society (3 years)
-Mu Alpha Theta (3 years)
-I went to an international school for 8 years and am fluent in French and Spanish.

My essays are awesome and my letters of recommendation are from teachers who like me and have known me for 3 years.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Wow, that is a great application. The only “weakness” for ivies would be your SAT score; however, everything else is excellent. As long as your essays are top-notch, then you have a solid chance everywhere. As for Swarthmore, just make sure you have a great “Why Swat” essay. Since you are a legacy, that is probably your best shot at a top school.

Too late now, but I would have recommended you improve your SAT scores for the ivies. GPA is on the low side for Ivies but still manageable. Your ECs and such will help compensate. For your other schools that are not top 15 caliber you should be fine. With some luck you may be accepted into 1 or 2 top 15 schools.

Thanks y’all!

Any other opinions? I will chance back! Just give me the link

A 2100 is a little low for Ivies and some of those liberal arts colleges. I’m sure you will be accepted by state schools, with those stats though. Great ECs as well, but once again, possibly not enough for Ivies.
Elite Liberal Schools: Good shot. Especially with that legacy at Swarthmore.
Ivies: Very, very high reach. In fairness though, it’s a high reach for everybody.
Satae Schools: I expect you to get in.

BUMP

bump!

To future college applicants looking to see where they can get in, I GOT INTO LITERALLY EVERY SCHOOL I APPLIED TO. I obviously don’t have the best scores, but I think it is all about how you present yourself to the colleges! Never give up!!! Anything is possible if you try hard enough!! I hope this helps other people with similar stats to gain confidence! Don’t listen to all the negative posters!!

Would you please list out the schools you applied and accepted if more than the 8 on the OP.

Rice, Georgetown, Colgate, UPenn, Tulane, Millsaps, Boston College, Ole Miss, and LSU.

That’s fantastic! Congratulations. Where’d you end up going, if you don’t mind me asking?

@NavalTradition it came down to Dartmouth and Williams, and I chose Dartmouth!
