You guys are awesome :D

MIT Sloan - Reach (always is)
Cornell - Low reaach
UCLA (biz econ) - Match
University of Virginia McIntire - Match
NYU Stern - High match

Haas and Ross are sophomore+ schools. Which means you need to get into Berkley and/or Umich first, then after your freshman year you apply for their business schools.***

Apply to Wharton ED btw, I think you have a decent shot if you bring that SAT to above a 2200. The reason I say you should is not only because you love the school or something, but because you got some SOLID ECs.

***Umich has a “preferred admission”, where you can apply for Ross and if you are accepted you study at Ross from your sophomore year.

Thanks Killforstern… uhm… I hope you get into Stern? (:

I agree with Killforstern. Cornell is a low reach, provided you get your SAT score up. I think it might be worth investing the time and researching Cornell’s AEM and IRL programs so you can write in your essays how you fit in at those business programs and knock out the interview.
UCLA is mostly a numbers game, so I think you are a match. This is the same with UVA; that being said, it is just a match. NYU Stern is difficult for anyone, but I would just apply and see what happens while still trying on the essays. The profiles of kids I see get selected seem really really random; thus, essays and interviews must play a part.

Hope this helps!

If you get your SAT up, I would also suggest you apply to Wharton. Anything can happen right? :)

Thanks Timberwolf4life…! I have SAT material all over my table >_< Yeah I know one case for NYU. essays do play a big part, but it also depends on if the specific reader likes your voice or not…

Do you think it’s better to apply to MIT EA or Wharton ED… (provided I get my SAT up!!) I feel like MIT EA would be more worth it as I have a higher chance, and my chances for Wharton doesn’t necessarily change if I apply for ED… (still slim)

get your sat up and you should be set.

There is direct admission to Ross, but it is very competitive.

futureAD - yes.yes.yes. (gosh this makes me hate the SAT so much!)

billcsho - yup I know a friend that received preferred admission, but she already graduated, so the competitive level probably changed.

chestnutt - I know someone just got in last year with preferred admission. It is still very very competitive. I know another girl did not get direct admission to Ross this year although she is one of the outstanding scholars in the top UMich feeder HS, she decided to go to USC business school with scholarship instead.

UVA is also a school where you can’t get into business as a freshman.

MIT - reach
Cornell - reach
UCLA - low match
Berkeley - match
UMich - high match
Stern - reach, NYU CAS- match
UVA - match

Oh and here’s my link

Thanks teenbodybuilder!

billcsho - thanks for the notice! so what do you think my chances are for Ross?

You have very good stats and a moderate sat. I think the internships will help you a lot. Best of luck to you.

MIT - reach
Cornell - low reach
UCLA - low match
Berkeley - high match
UMich - match
Stern - low reach
UVA - match/low match

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1533402-chances-top-urban-schools.html

Thanks soontobegrad :)

Really strong stats. I’d recommend UPenn’s Wharton as well, as long as you get your SATs up!

Thanks danhwkim :)

For UMich, your GPA is good while your SAT is right below average. You should be a match to high match for LSA. It is not likely to be direct admitted to Ross though. Try to bring up your SAT to 2250+ to have a better chance for Ross.

i agree to some point with the above user’s statement
there are still a lot of applicants with strong credentials like yours so you have to bring out your passion etc. in essays

still you only have no chance if you dont apply ;)

MIT - low reach
Cornell - high match
UCLA - high match
Berkeley - high match
UMich - match
Stern - match
UVA - high match
