Chance me for TOP colleges PLEASE!

Colleges:
-Upenn
-Harvard
-Stanford
-JHU
-WashU
-MIT
-Dartmouth
-Northwestern
-Cornell

*I know these are tough schools and I do have many safety schools.

32 ACT, 34 superscored (I know they don't superscore, but many look at highest subsections)
800 math 2, 750+ on a science SAT II

3.93 GPA unweighted , private school

More than the most rigorous class schedule (4.5 years of english, math up to Calculus 3 and AP stats, 3.5 years of humanities (school plans for everyone to get 3, I doubled up...), 5 years of science, 3 years of span (up to span 4, only thing that I didn't do 12th grade))

Letter of recommendation from physics teacher and from a prestigious math class program that has gotten ~40% of people into harvard who have applied.

ECS:
Entered Siemens competition (math project... not many of them accepted :/), giving presentation at a section math conference, submitting paper to journal.

More than 100 hours of volunteer hours per year. Elementary school Engineering tutor, tutor of the state finalist (x2) for the engineering competition.... translated popular educational videos over internet to spanish (100 hours+, maybe it will make up 3 years of spanish...?).... and some other things.

Competing in an international college engineering competition as the only qualifying high school team

Leadership in 3 major teams (no sports due to required after school commitment) the teams are national forensic league teams and math league, leadership in NHS

A lot of tutor experience and soccer referee

I have other ECs and volunteering, but I don't find them worth posting here.

You will definitley be a competitive applicant to all the schools you apply to. Your standardized test scores may hold you back a little, but it looks like the rest of your resume is good enough to make up for it. I think you will definitley get into a few of your top colleges, espically if you write good essays for all of them. Make sure your passionate and really try to stand out, good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1418125-chance-me-duke-other-top-schools.html</a></p>

chanced you back, bump

JHU, WUSTL = matches; NW, Cornell, Penn, Dartmouth (all RD I assume) = low matches; MIT, Stanford (RD I assume) = reaches (10 to 30%), Harvard (RD I assume) = high reach (less than 10%).

Very strong overall profile, but very selective colleges too and while solid in all areas no wow factor to tip the scales at Harvard, MIT, or Stanford.

Thank you!!

One thing I forgot, if you are really good at debate (national level), let Dartmouth and NW know as they have terrific debate teams. Also, while not at the same level of prestige, if dollars are an object Wake Forest won NDT a few years ago and gives half scholarships for debate. I think USC does so as well.

thanks… I’ll look into that.

bump 10char

I think you are in a prime position to compete at most (if not all) of those colleges but admission is always unpredictable so i think u sihoudl get atleast 1 or 2 of the really good schools. Im in a similar situation with GPA and scores and the colleges.

Good job banking volunteer hours. I think you have a great shot at Northwestern; my dad taught there once upon a time. I do not know how personable your writing can come across and in all my research regarding Harvard they like individuals who show who they are so make sure to come across loud and clear on your application. As far as the national forensics league is concerned, what was your district ranking? If you want to cite NFL make sure you know your rank and your degree. Your ECs are good but maybe joining a club sport team or offering some of your volunteer support to reffing a kid’s team may make a push to you trying to be as well rounded as possible.

Please chance me back, I have read your perspective on others and you seem to have good ideas. I will appreciate all the help I can get.

I actually have a valid excuse when it comes to the lack of sports, but I do also volunteer and do Ultimate Frisbee! Thanks for the feedback guys.

You are most definitely competitive for all these schools. They’re still crap shots though, but I’d say you have a great chance. Good luck! =)

This is pretty good stuff. I would say you have good chance. Pretty much perfect those essays and you are good for a number of those alteast.

im similar situation

Great ECs, but your test scores will need a boost. It will pretty much boil down to your essays.

thanks for the feedback
