Essays : Work in progress , However need tips !

I am African American (Parents born in Ghana, immigrated to US) Female, Living In NJ

Things I am worried about : Grades! The essays not being as personalized. If someone could help me out and give me contact info to help me ,that would be appreciated!
Also If someone could give me a list of less selective schools that would be great ! Also Study Guides for the SSAT . I’m Taking it in December .

Less selective but great schools: Berkshire, Kent, Millbrook-- there are a ton!! Time for you to do some googling.

You sound like a great kid, who would be an asset to any school. But do widen your list to include less selective schools (which is advice I would give any applicant with that list).

I’d suggest Brooks in MA.

What about all girls schools?

@one1ofeach I’m totally comfortable with all girls schools!

+1 on ‘you sound like a great kid who would be an asset to any school…widen your list’

Re: the essays, please see @Calliemomofgirls fantastic advice in this thread:

Miss Porter’s School in CT and Emma Willard both have a strong rep and reasonably high acceptance rates.

BTW, if your sister went to MX then I think you will have a decent shot there. Did she enjoy her experience there? Did she end up getting good grades and going to a decent college? You can PM me if you’d like. Thanks.
