Research:
I did an internship at IBM for the last 2 summers
I did a research project in computer science in 10th grade (what I worked on during my research class) and submitted it to a science fair (although I didn't win anything, that still got me exposed to the field I want to go into).
I did a research project in CS in junior year as well and won an ACM (a very prestigious organization in CS) award at the science fair).
Attended a well known tech conference in October where I won a pretty prestigious award for being a high schooler in STEM and for the work that I presented.
2014 SIEMENS SEMIFINALIST :)

9th grade - JV Swimming
10th and 11th grade - Varsity Lacrosse (planning to play next year as well)

My research mentor said he'll write me a strong letter of rec so that's a plus and my teacher recs will be good too I think
My Common App essay is really good according to everyone who I've shown it to. My college counselor said it's the best one he's read.

Thanks!

I'll chance you back if you want :)
and sorry this was so long

I think you’re very strong. However, there are lots of overachievers like you. Do u have a legacy? That can be a big boost. Maybe talk to your English teacher to get some killer essays. That’s where you can play your unique background (if any, such as ethical minority and overcoming economic or cultural obstacles…)Good luck, Columbiahopeful!

Chance me too ^

Thanks

I’m not really an authority on colleges at this point, but to me it looks good for a lot of schools. The 34 ACT will definitely help at the reach schools. With early decision, you have a pretty decent shot at Columbia. By the way, I think UT Austin reserves 90% of it spots for in-state applicants so it is pretty hard to get in there.

Caltech - low reach
Georgia Tech (OOS) - safety
