umm
Interesting enough I got into both Yale Young Global Scholars/TASP.
Quite honestly I didn’t think much of Yale Young Global Scholars since when I applied 2-3 years ago the acceptance rate hovered 45%ish so…it wasn’t that competitive of a summer program. I believe its around 35% rate right now so as long as you get good LoR and all that you should be in a good position.
TASP on the other hand personally I feel that has to do alot with your writing. Your GPA,scores can be slightly subpar but if you showcase your essays you have a good shot at TASPs. Once again just my two cents, good luck! There are few spots in TASPs so really I couldn’t pinpoint how much more you could improve on.
I heard TASP was kind of 64/1200 and YYGS’s acceptance rate is below30%(27% or so),and YYGS’s median SAT is 2250(Crazy prodigies!)
Oh yeah TASP is amazing the people you are surrounded with are ingenious. I felt like the dumbest person throughout the program however man oh man do you learn a whole lot at TASP.
TASP really focuses on diversity and thoughts? haha?
So is it harder for a Chinese applicant? You are also of asian ethnity, genius!
Haha nah definitely nowhere near a genius but thanks for the compliment. Im korean but im sure in the grand scheme of things korean, chinese = asian so no difference there.
Yes tasp really tries to focus on making it diverse not just racially but also from different backgrounds. Also it wasnt that people had the best gpas, test scores (although that certainly does help) that got in it was people who were creative, passionate, and truly brilliant individuals.
Focus on your essays showcase your writing and try to clearly portray your passions. Good luck!
Up and is there anyone in the Ross/Mathcamp/Upenn Mt before?
