<p>Start your essays early and polish them through many revisions.
Get stellar LORs (especially in the subject you want to major in) and get all applications in plenty of time before the due dates.
I think LORs from the principal/guidance counselors may be not as influential than teachers who know you well and how you perform in class.
If you are majoring in STEM then take the SATII Math.
No school you listed require 3 SAT IIs?</p>

<p>This past year, a senior from my High School in Maryland was accepted to MIT with a 3.6 unweighted and 1900 SAT scores. He was also among the best in the state in track as well as some other fair ECs but he was African American. Diversity is your friend at these top tier colleges so the sky’s the limit for you.</p>

<p>Coincidentally a good friend of mine has almost identical stats to yours. She’s also African American though her ECs are probably weaker and SAT scores also. Sorry that’s a bit off topic though couldn’t help but notice the similarities between you too. I’m sure you’ll do really well.</p>
