Chance me for transfer to UT Austin Cockrell School of Eng

Hey!

I am from Texas, but I went to high school in Indonesia and am attending college at the University of Waterloo in Canada. I am in my first year studying Materials and Nanoscience which is in both the Physics department and the Chemistry department. I really want to transfer to UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering for Chemical Engineering or Materials’ Engineering. I want to be in Texas and I believe that Engineering is right for me.

High school GPA: 3.4
College GPA: 3.5
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian

I’m a pretty strong student, except for physics because last term was my first-ever physics course. It was difficult but I did okay. I’m getting the hang of it now. I’ve taken two IB HL courses as well as two AP courses, and I did very well on all of them. I’m also very socially active (clubs, sorority, etc) and I have intern experience as some work experience and a decent amount of volunteer work.

Any thoughts, opinions, or advice would be greatly appreciated (:

Thank you!

Pretty unlikely with a 3.5. That would definitely be on the low side. Most people who were accepted as transfers last cycle had a 3.8+, if not a 3.9. You might want to try the UT board for a more accurate estimate.
