You need a much much higher SAT. GPA is also low for Tufts to be honest. I would honestly be shooting for a 2200 plus,for Tufts to be a match.

You are nearly 300 SAT points away from being a competitive applicant.
I would not waste your one ED option on Tufts.

Great, thank you all for the responses. Anything else I should improve on besides my SAT scores?

@SternBusiness I know you said a 3.8 is low; should it be a 4.0?

Don’t worry about your GPA too much. 3.8 is very high. GPA is very hard to change. Just focus on your SAT and try to get as high as you can. Good luck.

And also, if you can get your SAT into a more competitive range, definitely apply ED if its your first choice. You will not be “wasting your one ED option”.

@SternBusiness Great, thanks again!

One last question before I stop bothering you: Are my ECs varied enough, do you think? Or should I do more?

I should also mention that I have been inducted into the GreenSchools Honors Society, which helps to raise environmental awareness to several schools (me and other members will actively go around my school and other areas to raise awareness)

Yes your ECs are fine. Try to maybe hold more leadership positions in the activities that you do. In my opinion, EC’s are not of the utmost importance (unless they are unbelievable). Your GPA, SAT, Essay and Course rigor are the most important aspects.

ED you should have no problems. The only thing you could maybe improve to seal the deal is SAT. Having only two Bs in HS is very good, with a good amount of APs so just make sure you work on essays because tufts cares a lot about those. If you at least tentively start outlining them and the common app essay over the summer I’d say you’d have really high odds.
