I’m applying to Tufts early decision, and it’s by far my favorite school. I feel confident about my application and my essays. I like to think I’m pretty Tufts-y.
So I’m a white girl from central Virginia (pretty rural, small town). No need-based aid. Interested in humanities, especially psychology.
ACT: 31 (English 36 reading 34; math/sci 28)
AP tests: World History (5), Psychology (5), US history (3), Micro-economics (4)
GPA: 4.0 unweighted; 4.63 weighted. No class rank.
Senior year classes: psych applications and research, AP Lit, AP Physics 1, AP Spanish, AP US Gov, AP Calculus AB, journalism
Activities: Drama all four years (acted in plays and musicals, stage crew, and assistant directed one play); volunteered with diabetes support groups, counselor in training at a diabetes camp (I have type 1 diabetes); Editor in chief of school newspaper (journalism all four years), member of many other clubs, girl scouts for 10 years (Silver and Bronze awards)
Honors: National Honor Society member, chosen for and participated in Virginia Governor’s school for the Humanities for a month over the summer, school academic awards: earth science, AP psychology, combined English/AP US class (one award each year)
I think the only thing that would stop me from being accepted is my ACT score, although my humanities scores are great, and how many humanities students Tufts wants to accept. So what are my chances? I want to be a Jumbo!
