Chance Me for Tufts, Macalester, UCs, etc.? (Will try to chance back.)

Hey all,

I did a chance post a couple months ago but my stats and colleges have changed pretty significantly, so I thought I might try again.

My current list: Tufts, Brandeis, Macalester, Carnegie Mellon, UM Ann Arbor, Penn State, Rutgers, Miami (of Ohio), UCLA, UCSD, UCSB. Stanford and Cornell are maybes because I’m not sure if I should even attempt.

Ethnicity: Asian/Hispanic
I probably will qualify for some financial aid.
Legacies: None; I’m an immigrant.
Intended major: Double major or minor/concentration in Psychology and Neuroscience or Biopsychology

GPA: 3.98 unweighted/ 4.16 weighted
ACT: 33 composite (Retaking in Sept, hoping for a 34.)
AP: 4 Eng Lang, 4 Bio, 5 U.S. History

  • Volunteer for 3 years for AYSO VIP soccer program for kids with disabilities
  • Received 30 hours of crisis intervention and suicide prevention training
  • Staffer for my school’s newspaper for 2 years, will be an editor for another 2
  • Attended CSSSA (California State Summer School for the Arts) in 2013 for Creative Writing
  • Attended UC Berkeley’s selective ATDP summer program in 2014 for Social Psychology and Creative Writing
  • Won 3 Gold Keys and 12 Honorable Mentions in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards since 7th grade
  • Volunteered at a special education summer program for high schoolers for 4 weeks and at a Kickstart to Kindergarten program for 2 weeks this summer
  • Participant in my school’s buddy program, where upperclassmen act as mentors to groups of 6 or 7 freshmen

your ec’s are good as well as your scores for the schools listed above, carnegie mellon and tufts are probably the only two that might be tough for you to get into

UW GPA is fantastic. Test scores are good as well. Try to get a leadership position in a club (besides JV soccer captain). This way, you can demonstrate intellectual leadership as well as academic prowess. That being said, here are your chances:
