@ptkid16 Yeah, I was too. Oh well. My advice to you is to use ED (wisely)! Don’t make this whole ordeal longer than it has to be. I’m currently deciding between Northeastern and Occidental.
Thanks. Best of luck! Both are great choices, and I know that you’re going to thrive wherever you go!
Well I wouldn’t say to not aim to high … I almost didn’t apply to Brown because of that in fact I did the supplements an hour before the deadline… And guess what! I got in to both brown barnard and tufts!! So don’t ever give up hope. You’ll only regret it if you never tried. You’ll always wonder… What if?
@ptkid16
@rachaell What I mean by don’t aim too high is don’t have a school too reach-heavy. Im sure you worked very hard in high school, but if you wrote Brown’s supplements an hour before the deadline and were accepted, you are lucky. You are an anomaly and not representative of the outcome of most. I would say create a college list as if you are already assuming that you will be rejected from your reaches.
thank you both for your advice I appreciate it! @rachaell if you don’t mind my asking what are your stats and ECs? I’m thinking of applying to Brown, Columbia and UPenn as reach schools currently.
Well my act was a 30, I have a 4.0/4.0 gpa weighted it’s a 4.6. I have almost 500 hours of community service. I work a Job at a law office (even though I want nothing to do with law - my major is engineering). I have tutored kids at my high school for almost three years(mostly in math). I’m Mexican American. Umm I was in youth council for a year (would have continued but I moved to a city an hour away from my high school and have to commute everyday). Umm nothing much else… I think I wrote a very strong Comman app essay that showed them that I could contribute a lot to a school. It basically was about my life growing up and how that shaped my dreams and aspirations. Now that I’m writing my stats I see how under qualified I am… @ptkid16
Wow I disagree you sound pretty well qualitied to me! Thanks and Congrats! @rachaell
