Chance me for Tufts

SAT II: World History (720), Math 2C (740) + will take US History this May.
AP: World History (5), Calculus AB (4), Chemistry (3) + will take US History, English Lang, Environmental Science, and Calc BC this May.

Although I am still a Junior, I am really interested in attending Tufts University.
What would be my weakness (SAT II maybe??) and what should I focus on in the next 8 months to get into Tufts?

Many Thanks!

You could possibly aim for a higher SAT score, possibly a 1500+
Also, do you have any leadership positions in your extracurriculars and have you done any volunteer work?
I’m a junior too, so good luck to us

If you have time, could you possibly check out my thread ?

Tufts is supppperrr weird with admissions… they accepted a kid from my school this year who never took any ap or honors courses at all. no rhyme or reason to it. good luck

@sandiee OMG Your SAT score is stellar!!!
How did you study for it? Any tips?
You definitely have a strong shot at all the schools you listed!!

I have done 50+ hours for community service in the past three years…
I am founder & student leader of MUN and hopefully I can be the editor for school newspaper next year…
I think that’s pretty much it…

@mimimo7890
Really? I’ve never heard of that. Thanks for sharing that!
Other than Tufts, I’m also considering Boston College, Northwestern, Swarthmore, U-Chicago, and Middlebury.

Any advice or tips??

Thanks!

I think you have a very good chance then!!

I think you’d have a decent chance at bc but Chicago northwestern and middlebury are tough. Just get sat up and make sure your essays stand out!

Your GPA & rank are awesome! I think you could definitely get the reading up with practice. Was time an issue for you? Was it more CR or grammar? Also, what would you likely major in? I could see your admissions going either way, but your GPA/rank alone will give you some great options.

Chance back?

@writergirl0316 Hey! Thanks! I am interested in majoring history, economics, and international relations.
Time was a big issue for my reading, particularly because I only slept 3 hours the night before my SAT (I find it very hard to sleep well the night before big exams…)
I got a 700 out of 760 on PSAT reading so hopefully I can do better on reading next time.!
By the way, do you have any SAT study tips?

Thanks!

@mimimo7890 Thanks!! Yeah… all the schools I listed above are my dream schools. (If I can get into any of them, I will be beyond happy!)
Hopefully, I can do better on my SAT next time…
Do you have any tips/advice for SAT prep?

I’d recommend experimenting with different readijf strategies to see which is the quickest for you.

@writergirl0316 Honestly, I think you’ve got it!
I am amazed by your scores, extracurricular activities, and all the awards you listed.
I don’t know much about the college admission process, but I think you should definitely aim at Harvard, Yale, Penn, and Princeton.
(Btw, a friend of mine got into Yale with a 33 on his ACT. don’t worry too much about your scores.)

Junior year really sucks, but it seems that you will do just fine.
Good luck!!!

@aegis400 Ah thank you! Best of luck to you as well.

Honestly no I’m senior this year and was only able to get my act score up from a 29 to a 30. I was good at English (35) but my science was a 27  and math and reading sucked for me too
