<p>I've placed U Chicago as one of my reach schools and am just wondering what my chances are based on other people's experience. </p>

<p>I would for sure do physics as my major</p>

<p>GPA: 3.63 (all honors/AP courses when possible)</p>

CIS German (college level German)
Band (Tenor Saxophone)</p>

<p>ACT: 33, super score: 34
English: 31
Math: 31 (35 on other)

Science: 36</p>

European history: 3
Statistics: 5
Language and Composition: 5</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
FIRST robotics all 4 years
Mechanical team lead sophomore year and elected captain junior and senior years</p>

<p>Saxophone ensemble all 4 years </p>

<p>National Honor Society and National World Language Honor Society</p>

<p>Boy Scouts, working on Eagle</p>

<p>Founded a Science Club and serve as President of it</p>

<p>Other:
I was selected to be a TA with my chemistry teacher for my senior year</p>

<p>One piece of advice: pay attention to your essays! The prompts are grueling…</p>

<p>Your ACT score is good, but your GPA is a bit low. Your interests align with your prospective major but there’s nothing that screams “this kid is super spunky” which is what uChicago likes to brand themselves as.
Write a fantastic essay and you should have a great shot. Apart from the low GPA, there’s nothing that keeps you out of the school, but there’s nothing that seems to set you apart (on paper, that is). Apply EA and your chances may improve.</p>
