Rice is a math, I’d say, except, the fact that you’d need aid will definitely hurt you.

MIT is always a toss up…you might want to retake the math SAT if you want to get in. U Chicago, you have the grades and scores for. But still, toss up.

Bump

I need more opinions

bump 10char

damn either your school really isnt competitive or something. My GPA is 4.999999, but I`m like top 30%.

Ehhh, our val. has weighted GPA of 5.3-4ish

In other words, yes our school’s not very competitive.

But I am taking one of the most rigorous courses this year (7 APs per sem., HARD ONES)

Wow your work load certainly looks very challenging, don’t kill yourself.

I think overall you are an competent applicant. SAT’s look decent. Hey I am taking the SATs on Oct too! (the SAT I, not subject). If you get 780+ on physics that will help.

Your AP scores are lower, but u still make distinction, nice job :).

The only thing I would say is that you should up your SAT I’s in November.

MIT - Reach (high mid-ish)
UChicago - high match
Rice - match

GOOD LUCK!

The biggest problem with MIT is that they do not recognize the SAT Essay at all, which is your biggest appeal, having received a 12 on it and an 800 on the Writing section. Thus, you may need to, as others have pointed out, take the test again to try to improve the Critical Reading and, more importantly, Math sections.

Hmm, so MIT does count the writing in the ACT?

Should just send both in?

Also, does MIT use score choice?
If i take it in November, it’ll be the 3rd time. Isn’t taking the test that many times a bad thing?
