Well that’s embarrassing, accidentally hit post before I was finished and it didn’t let me edit. Here’s the full post.

I’m currently a junior from the United States. I’m interested in applying to U Toronto and McGill, however I’ve been having a hard time finding reliable data on admissions statistics aside from the application minima at each school. I do not yet have everything I’ll need to apply, but if anyone can tell me what they think based on what I have right now, especially students who were recently accepted, it would be much appreciated.

Stats:

School: Public, not highly competitive.

GPA: UW 94-95/100, weighted not yet available.

Class Rank: Not yet available, though I have been told I’m in the top 10% of my class.

SAT I Math: 770
SAT I Reading: 740
SAT I Writing: 630 (retaking to try and bump this up)
SAT I Total: 2140

I have not yet taken any SAT IIs, though when I do I plan on taking Math II, Physics, and U.S. History.

ACT: Taking it in September.

AP Classes/Exams: All averages unweighted.

Have Already Taken:

Honors Classes: I have taken every honors class offered in my school district (Science grades 8-10, Math grades 8-11, English grades 9-10, Music (Advanced Orchestra) grades 10-12, History is only offered at the AP level for honors students).

(Outside of school): Boy Scouts of America (pending approval for my Eagle Scout project), Squires of Columbus, violinist in a local orchestra that performs during the summer.

Leadership: President and Founder of school’s Model UN chapter, Vice President of the academic team.

(Outside of school): I have held various leadership roles in my Boy Scout troop from grades 7-11 and will likely be elected to one next year as well. I have held elected leadership roles in my Squires of Columbus circle from grades 8-11 and will likely be elected once more next year. Assistant Instructor/“Senpai” at my martial arts dojo in grades 8 and 9.

Honors/Awards: National French Honor Society, National Honor Society, “Student of the Month,” “Distinguished Squire Award,” have to track down my list of others but there are a few.

Athletics: I have not been able to participate in school athletics (nor martial arts since 9th grade) due to a physical disability (moderate to severe autoimmune disease).

Community Service: I do not currently have my records in front of me, but if I remember correctly I have ~200+ hours of community service as of right now. Most of this is through the Boy Scouts, Squires, or peer tutoring (free of charge of course).

Obviously an incomplete profile, but any input would be appreciated. Thank you!
