Chance me for UC and CSU schools with mediocre GPA?

I don’t plan to apply to UCB, UCLA, UCSC or UCM, but the rest are on my mind
Stats:

UC GPA: 3.6
Uw GPA: 3.5
Weighted GPA: 3.8
SAT(took three times):
610r/620m/710w=1940
650r/570m/690w=1910
590r/550m/700w=1840
Superscore: 1980
ACT(one sitting): 33
Took 3 AP classes Jr. year
Class rank: N/A

As for personal statement and such, I struggled a lot with school with ADHD and a family member passing away as I was in high school. It was rough.

EC(Throughout and before high school)
Academic block D
Mentor for freshman mentorship program
AVID
Habitat for humanity
Red cross
Varsity cheerleading
Varsity track
Varsity cross country
Competitive dance
Choir
Piano
Global leadership program (volunteering)
Volunteered at senior homes and hospitals

I am only considering UCs and a few CSU schools:
UCSB
UCD
UCR
UCSD
UCI
CSULB
SDSU
CAL POLY SLO
SJSU
CSUF

These are the only ones I’m considering applying to but doubt I have a chance at any as they seem difficult to get to.

Your ACT is very competitive, UC GPA not so much. For 6 of the 9 campuses, the average UC GPA is 4.0+ and the UC’s are very GPA focused. Your best chances for the UC’s will be UCSC and UCR. The rest would be slight reaches (UCD/UCI/UCSB) and Reach (UCSD) but if you write some compelling essays along with your EC’s, your chances do increase.

The Cal states other than Cal Poly SLO, use an eligibility index to rank applicants by major and they superscore the ACT and/or SAT.

(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT comp x10)
Based on your posted stats your EI is 4150 SAT/1050 ACT.

You should have a very good chance at SDSU/CSULB/SJSU and possibly Cal Poly SLO. Much will depend upon your major. I wish you good luck.

With a 3.6 GPA, I’d say UCR and UCM are your only realistic UCs (with a very slim chance at UCSC). But you should definitely get into most of the CSUs (besides Cal Poly SLO).

@goldenbear2020 my goal is SDSU for a major in health science, but honestly it seems very difficult for me as a 3.6 doesn’t seem like it would cut it anywhere.

SDSU’s average GPA is 3.69. Can you bump up that GPA by the end of this spring semester?

@goldenbear2020 unfortunately, that’s about as high as it goes…
