THANK YOU GUYS!!!

The SAT is 100 points off the average scores for Northwestern and Berkeley. Colleges use unweighted GPA to compare stats. The GPA is at or slightly above average, which puts your chances at around 9%. Also, me being from Texas, you don’t want to rely on UT Austin as a safety school. They reserve 85% of their applications for Texas residents. Though your stats are reasonably competitive, you still only have a 15% chance of getting in. You’re going to want to use a school like Florida or FSU as a safety school.

Using Naviance, Compare your SAT scores 1370 with all students who have been accepted
Chances Low, Average, High
Northwestern 1430, 1497, 1550
Berkeley 1370, 1450, 1540
UT 1200, 1325, 1440

I think UT is HIgh
Good Luck.

unfortunately my parents wont let me go to a florida school as one of my sisters did and one didnt and they see a hige discrepancy between the 2. i know 2 UT alum, ones actually my next door neighbor, and they both had a lower SAT score and GPA. however im starting tutoring for the SAT and believe i can bring my scores up at least 80 points if not 100. do you have any suggestions on the ap chem dilemma?

UC has their own GPA system based on A-G courses. They only calculate it using your 10th and 11th grades. Study for the SAT and ACT and good luck!

Being a nonresident for California schools will put you at a disadvantage.
The rules have changed and the universities are capping out-of-state enrollment, so unless your scores your tippy top high, I don’t think your chances are good for UCB.
You also need to make sure you comply with the F requirement of the UC‘s. One year of study of fine or performing arts in a graded classroom
Your AP scores don’t bode well when compared to the in-state kids getting into UCB.
Why would you want to spend $60,000 a year, on a public California school?

Your 1370 and AP scores aren’t too hot for UCB. However, if you get those up and maintain your extracurriculars, you should have a good shot!

With a 1500 on the SAT or a 33 on the ACT, you would be a very competitive candidate to both of these schools, especially if you apply ED to Northwestern

Brought me from 1090 to a 1460

UT Austin would be a reach from OOS as well. Don’t be fooled by the admission stat as it is mostly from in state auto admission which has nothing to do with OP. There are very little OOS students admitted there. All three schools are reaches. OP need to find matches and safeties. Fortunately, there is still time to improve the test scores and add more schools to the list.
