I am a High School Junior. What are my chances in getting in UC Berkeley? I am currently out-of-state, but I want to become a resident of California because I lived there the first 12 years of my life and I am planning on moving back, hopefully to go to a UC!

Please also chance me for UT Austin. Also, I'm thinking of majoring in Computer Science.

Your gpa is pretty good. Your weighted GPA should be high too; I would say above a 4.3 to be safe. Study for the SAT or try out the ACT. For cal you really want to be above 2100 and 31/32. Keep up with the community service. Try to get to at least a 100 hours by the time you can apply. But the more the better. Also do something interesting in the summer. If you do this you should have a pretty good chance. Good luck!

I’ve also:
-volunteered at Dell Children’s Hospital in a 7-week summer program for 2 years (about 23hours each summer)
-attended Rotary Camp Enterprise

You look like a very solid applicant. Your EC’s are great, as well as your GPA. Definitely focus on your test scores this year to improve them. Other than that, you shouldn’t have a problem getting into Berkeley.

I agree with everyone about your chance. Your extracurricular and gpa are really good. Since you are a Junior work on raising your sat! My took mine really late and regret it.

I think you have an okay chance. Bear in mind that you are out of state so that does reduce your chances. However, if you get a good SAT/ACT score, that issue will probably be overlooked. My only advice is make sure you study for those tests and DON’T PROCRASTINATE ON YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENTS!!! START THEM OVER THE SUMMER!
