<p>I played the electric guitar for my youth ministry band 4 years
I volunteered at their feed the homeless events around 80 hrs
I volunteered at my local library. 103 hours
I volunteered at the local food bank for 50 hours
I traveled to a small church outside of Mexico City to make blankets for the less fortunate for 20 hours
I tutored younger students after school for 54 hours

<p>If I were to gauge your chances at Cal Poly Pomona I’d need to know your service area, but Cal Poly Pomona is generally wanting to bring in first generation college kids. I don’t know what that 1410 is out of 1600. What are your math and verbal scores? Departments at Cal Poly Pomona vary significantly. If, for instance, you wanted to do engineering, I might say forget it pal. I think the average SAT to my knowledge is around 1100/1600 across all majors. I think they might take you in because you’re Mexican. They will probably tailor that to you as well to make it personal. I’ve seen some admission letters to admits that are mexican first generation students on instagram who totally didn’t expect to get admitted. The school likes diversity.</p>
