My journalism teacher has told me repeatedly that I have been writing the best feature stories he has ever seen in his years at the school, and that I’ve had the most impressive 1st semester in his class of the students he has had. I will be competing in State and Nationals for journalism.

Hello! In my opinion, I think your chances are looking pretty good. Are you in state or out of state? Also, showing a sustained interest in journalism while wanting to major in it should prove helpful in your application.
