Chance me for UC Davis YSP Summer Program

Here are my stats:
I’m a sohomore
32 ACT - will probably raise in Febuary
3.71 UW Freshman year and 4.46 W (I took mostly AP/Honors)
I will have finished AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Physics 1, and AP Calc AB by this summer

ECs

  • I volunteer at the Honor Health Deer Valley Medical Center each week for 4 hours. In addition, I have volunteered at the North South Foundation which organizes science competitions for youth and raises money to fund education of impoverished children in India.
  • Debate Captain
  • NHS
  • Did competitive Biotechnology project program at my school last year.

I am also probs applying to GMU, Cornell, and BU rise and chance me for any/all of them.

Not sure what YSP is. Your ACT score is strong, and you have good ECs. UCs don’t use freshman grades so your 3.71/4.46 doesn’t really count. Sounds like you have good rigor. Keep it up this year and next year and you should be in good shape.

Thanks for replying! For clarification, YSP is their summer research program which I will be applying to for this summer. Thank you for your advice though because I am really interested in UC Davis lol!

Oh haha I didn’t realize it was a summer program! I think you have a good chance, especially with your bio/animal science-related ECs. Have you also considered applying to Cosmos?

yes, it is definitely on my radar. I have looked into it but I am a little concerned as to whether it is a research program that gives us the opportunity to design abstracts and stuff. IDK cause it is only 4 weeks and I am not sure if people get real research results to send to competitions and stuff.
