Chance me for UC Irvine Please ;]

Hi ;] If you feel like you've seen this post before, you probably have. My stats are posted on many of the forums here, i like having as many feedback as possible thanks ;]. BUt to cut to the chase and not bore anyone with what my classes were for my 3 years in highschool here ya go. ;]

Freshman year: 3.5 GPA
Sophmore year: 3.8
Junior year: 4.4

I took 3 Aps in my junior year and passed them all, 5 in calc Ab Ap, 4 in chem Ap, and 3 in English lang and comp ;]

Senior year i will be taking 3 APs: Econ Ap, Stats AP, and AP enviromental science. I also will take physics and an english class. I am missing my first period so i was thinking of doing TA, <---- UCs wont think badly of me if i do right?

My UC GPA is 4.08

SAT I Scores: Highest Score together is 1900, (CR 600, W 600, M 700)
Highest CR score: 600
Highest Writing: 600
Highest Math: 720
SAT II scores: Chemistry: 670 (planning to retake)
Math 2: 670 (planning to retake)
Act: I plan on taking ACT in September, and so far on practice tests Ive received from 29-30.5, without Writing

Extracurriculars: I've been playing Piano outside of school as private lessons since third grade, so its been about 9 years now. I'm going to be a committee head of my school's math club next year. Im working on becoming a lifetime member of CSF (California scholarship foundation?) I did a little bit more than 20 hours of service my sophomore year. Im currently doing volunteer service at a hospital near by, i plan on doing 40 hours or more there. I applied to NHS, but im not sure if ive been accepted.

Oh! and i am in the top 10% of my class. And became one of the top ten of my class based on my junior year GPA. (Straight As)

So what are my chances at UC Irvine as applying for electrical engineering? Thanks ;]

Hi, your stats are pretty solid, great UC GPA, your SAT I score is around average.

Don’t worry bout TA’ing or having the UC’s thinking badly of you, you’re taking 3 AP’s senior year, thats good enough for them.

Are you going to retake the SAT I? If so, try to aim for a 1950+, and you will be very solid. You are already solid, but you want that clincher.

In terms of EC’s, I would try to get some more volunteer hours under your belt. 20-40 hours is not good enough, aim for 100+.

Keep it up with the clubs and the leadership.

Sat 2 scores are already good, but even better if you can raise it.

You have a good shot at UCI :]

Thanks for your response Jun. ;] I have 20 from boys and girls club, at least 40 form the hospital, some other clubs like CSF also require some volunteer hours. I go to tag away every year which is about 4 hours each time. I think im getting close to 100. I started late on volunteering because many of those palces required u to be 15 or older, and im born later into the year.

i think you’re good. my stats were very similar, and my sat score was 1940, but i heard 1900s for irvine is pretty solid.
if you get a 29 or higher on the act, report the act score :]

i wish you the best of luck!

I think you have a great chance.

up your SAT/ACT if at all possible, otherwise I’ll say that you’re good. Ohh and try taking BOTH of the AP tests for economics if at all possible(even though you only take one class in my experience there’s a lot of overlap for the two and you shouldn’t really need to study)

then again I’m an econ major(quantitative economics) and the subject came naturally to me. Ohh and consider AP gov too.
