Electives:
I have a job and I am secretary of the history club. (I know I need more... would joining a few clubs during senior year help at all?)

What other colleges should I consider applying to?

UCSC: High match
Humboldt State: Safety

Thank you!

GPA is a little on the low side for UCSC, but ACT/SAT scores are good. More EC’s would help too, for UCSC.

Humboldt: safety
UCSC: high match

Have you considered looking into some CSU’s or maybe SDSU? I’d say you have a good chance at those, and try looking into a few more UC’s as well!

I am also interested in UC Santa Barbara and Davis, but they’re much more competitive and I don’t think I’m good enough… Other interests include Sac State and CSU Monterey Bay. (I would love to live by the ocean.)

Sac State: Low match
CSUMB: Low match

Definitely try applying for both of those UC’s, it’s not a complete reach although Davis would be a little tougher if you don’t raise that GPA or SAT/ACT. I live in the Sacramento region and Sac state would be a definite safety, CSUMB a low match.

I’m focused on UC Santa Cruz, really. I don’t even know if I would bother applying to Davis because it’s so competitive. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances for UC Santa Cruz at this point?

UCSB: Reach
UCD: Reach

Thanks again. (:

At this point, I would say just maintain straight A’s senior year to raise that GPA and then retake the SAT or ACT in the fall. You don’t have much EC’s but idk if joining clubs your senior year would really help at all, unless its some you’re really passionate about. Oh and write a great essay. Good luck!

I started my essays months ago, I’ve been trying to get them just perfect. My only ec is my job and it takes up so much of my time that I can’t join clubs anyways. :(
