Ok, be honest - what do you think my chances are to get into a UC, mostly UCSC
Major: Business/Economics
UC GPA: 3.5 Weighted GPA:3.67
SAT: First Time 1280, Second Time 1310 Essay:15
Honor/AP Classes: Algebra 2 H, English 2 H, AP Biology, AP English, Pre-Calc Honors.
Things to Consider:
Upward GPA Trend From A 3.0 to 4.5 through sophomore and junior year
Swimming 4 years
Tutoring middle school students
Swim Instructor
Took Algebra 1 in 8th Grade. Passed with A
Volunteered at Food Bank
Volunteered at hospital
Built solar panels for children in Africa
Got a D first semester of Algebra 2 H passed second semester with C
Anyhting lower than a b in a core math class will hurt you greatly and your sat scores are not good enough to show you have mastered the material and it was just an issue with the class. For a business/economics major math matters and I feel this will be a big problem. The upward trend is good and your ecs are decent but I don’t feel you have anything that is well over par enough to make up for the a little above average test scores, moderate gpa, and the bad Algebra 1 grade. You still have a chance but nothing gives you a big leg up.
Already posted on one of your other threads but your UC GPA is below average for all but UCR and UCM. SAT scores are within range for all the UC’s. Upward grade trend is helpful along with good essays. For UCSC, I would say High Match (50/50) and your target UC’s would be Riverside and Merced. The rest of the UC’s will be tough admits since they tend to be GPA focused.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79:

UCSD: 6%
UCD: 15%
UCSB: 14%
