Chance me for UCB and UCSD (will gladly chance back)

I’ll try to keep this as concise and organized, just looking for a general feeling of where I’m at right now before Senior Year starts. If I do apply I’ll be an instate applicant.

UC GPA: 3.91
SAT 1: 1570 ----> 800 R/W + 770 M
SAT II: Physics - 800, Math 2 - 760, Bio - 780
Class Rank: 19/394

EC:
Varsity Soccer ----> (3 years, Captain junior and hopefully next year as well)
President of DECA ----> 3 years (will be doing senior year)
CSF ----> 3 years
Interact Rep. —> 3 years (will be doing senior year)
Lead Design for Robotics Club (went to state 2 years in a row) --> 3 years (hoping for president senior year)
Did a summer Internship at local hospital for a month; focus on technology used in medical facilities

Senior Year Course Load: AP Stats, AP Gov/Econ, AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Lit, + elective
By Senior Year I’ll have taken 11 AP’s

Only thing worrying me is I had weak grades in AP Physics 1 during sophomore year a C-/C for the year, but I scored a 4 on the exam and took the SAT test for it so I’m wondering whether it’ll make up for it or no. I’m also wondering whether I should try ACT or just keep my SAT score. I appreciate all the feedback.

disclaimer: I’m a high schooler offering my somewhat educated opinions, so take my advice for a grain of salt

Great test scores and class rank - far above average for both Berkeley (I think) and SD. I wouldn’t waste time with any more testing. Your UC GPA is a little low for UCB (average is ~4.1 I believe) but better for UCSD. ECs are somewhat ordinary, but UC schools rely more on GPA/test scores than private schools (from what I’ve heard). Honestly, since you’re in-state, I’d say you have a very good shot at UCSD and a good shot at Berkeley as well. Good luck!

Chance back?

You should be able to get in. I think UCSD is a safety for you at this point (not saying it is bad though- I’ll be attending there in the fall!)

UCB: Low Reach
UCSD: High Match

UC’s are very GPA focused but your test scores are excellent. If you have some outstanding essays, your chances should increase.

Good Luck.
