Hi everyone, this is my first post so I haven’t built much trust on this website but I promise to chance back people that provide valuable input. Here are my scores and extracurriculars:
Applied: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

UC GPA (10-12th): 4.5161 W / 3.871 UW
SAT II: Math II: 800, Chemistry: 760, Biology M: 770, US History: 740 (would it have been better to not take the SAT for history?)
AP’s: Biology - 4, Chemistry - 5, Lang. - 5, Calc. BC - 5, US History - 5. Currently taking: Lit., Stats., Art HIstory, Compsci., Physics
Extracurriculars:
These are just the ones that the application let me add (5 activities and 5 awards):

Chess Club for 3 years (got 4th place at a school wide tournament last year)
National Ocean Sciences Bowl for 2 years

Volunteer / Work experience:
Internship at a pharmaceutical company the summer after the end of 10th grade (this was when I didn't know what I would major in)
Volunteered to tutor students from grades 2-8 at a local library for about 50 hours in total
My essays are…ok I guess. I think I could have worked harder on both of them so I would say maybe 7 or 8 out of 10 on both of them.
Please let me know if I forgot to mention any vital information and I will try to update as soon as possible. I’m mainly worried because I think my extracurriculars aren’t as strong as they need to be and that overall I come off as a student that only studies all day (which I don’t)
Firstly, your stats are excellent and you should be proud of the accomplishment. However, the harsh reality is that for E.E and C.S., most everyone will have like-kind stats. The problem of supply and demand is further exacerbated by Foreign students taking up a lot of the available seats. Anyway, so will you get in? No one knows for sure, so apply away and don’t forget the mid/ lower UC’s and Cal Poly SLO. Good Luck.
Thank you for your help so far everyone! I’ve chanced you jdschooled5. SamRam, thank you for your concern, that’s actually another thing I’m worried about. I know I would be considered a good applicant in general, but eecs is very hard to get into. My friends are getting LA and Berkeley regents invitations and I’m just like pls anything pls. Any other help will also be appreciated.
Niiiiice SAT score! Almost perfect! I think that’s super impressive, and the top UCs will probably think so too! I think you have a pretty good chance, especially academic-wise. I’m also a senior in high school, except with stats not nearly as impressive as yours. Good luck!
Impressive Stats. You have a good chance at UCLA & UCSD. UCB Computer Science applicants, however, have lots of EC’s in Computer Science. It is very competitive. Most applicants have worked on platforms (io’s) or websites. I was working with a few friends who are seniors on an app for Google Glass and they applied to UC Berkeley. But keep in mind that most programmers like us don’t code because we’re geniuses, we code because it’s easy.
Bump. If it makes any difference, I recently got accepted to Purdue University and University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I applied compsci for both of these.
