Chance Me for UCB, UMich, UCLA, and Duke!

Hello everyone, I'm obviously fairly new to these forums when it comes to posting, however, I've read through pretty much everything on here! Any suggestions on possible universities for me besides the ones listed in the title are also appreciated

Possible Majors:
Meteorology/atmospheric sciences
Psychology
Forensic Science
Pre-med?

Test Scores:
Act: 30
SAT: Have not taken
SAT Subject Tests: Will take (expecting high 600s/700s)

(at my school test scores were not taken very seriously when it comes to possibly wanting to apply OOS)

GPA/Rank:
UWGPA: 3.95
WGPA: 4.65 (predicted to be around 4.8...not that it matters much considering most schools use their own gpa system)

Overall I'll have around 12-14 AP/Honors courses taken throughout my high school career.

EC's:
4 years of varsity volleyball
4 years of varsity golf
3 years of National Honor Society
3 years of Mu Alpha Theta (math honors society)
3 years of Pi Sigma Pi (history/social science honors society)
3 years of being a Link Crew Leader (helps incoming freshmen throughout the year)

--- The above 4 EC's were only available to me from soph through senior year ---

Volunteer Work:
50+ hours total for NHS
This summer: 20+ hours volunteering at the teen center at my local library

Work Experience:
Cashier at Kmart for a summer/working with my dad in his business

Notable Info:
Will be taking a free university level class during my senior year at Lewis University. This is a part of the High School Scholars Program at my school.

Other Info:
Gender: Male
Caucasian
Family Income: ~30k (FA please?)

I will be applying to all of the colleges listed OOS. I figured right now Berkeley/Duke will be my biggest reaches however it would be great to hear some input from others. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Duke is going to be really a challenge with SAT II’s in the high 600’s. :frowning: I don’t know enough about the others. Are you a California resident?

feel free to chance back if you want:)

I’d take UCLA off of your list and replace it with University of Southern California. UCLA won’t give you any aid, but USC will probably give you some merit aid/scholarship, etc. They’re both similar btw.

heyimpeter - I just put high 600’s because I know very little about any of the subject tests and am not the greatest standardized test taker :/

Rolando - I will also be applying to USC I just neglected to add that to the title. Thanks though.

oh, awkward late post haha

Probably not Duke, not with those test scores. Possibly for UCB and UCLA but again your test scores may hurt you, although with that GPA, you have a legitimate shot at them. I think probably yes at UM because Michigan cares most about GPA and yours is excellent.
