You have a good chance of making it. Just bring up ACT to a 32. Try to get a leadership role in one of the clubs

Berkeley: Match/High match

Paying full-freight to Berkeley will take a large chunk of change… KU honors is a safety for you, I assume.

MBenz23: Thank you for the advice! I am definitely aiming for 32+ this April. I just chanced you back :)

Catria: Thank you! I am looking into scholarships, aid, etc as much as I can already. And you guessed right on for my safety school haha.

UCB: High match

You GPA is great and your test scores are around average for UCB. If you get a 33 or higher on the retake and do 700+ on the SAT II’s, I’d call it a match. It’s just up to solid essays and a clear statement of your desire to attend. Good luck and thanks for chancing me!

Its a high match
Get the ACT up to a 32-33. If you don’t get 700+ on SAT II then don’t submit
chance me back?

I think Match/Low reach. I say reach because theres so many qualified applicants so there’s no guarantee. But, you seem like the ideal applicant. And submit ACT if you got a 33…thats better than 2040 SAT. If you want to submit SAT make sure its over 2100. I agree with poster above, only submit 700+ SATIIs though I think they don’t even require them. Its harder to get in from OOS but I know schools are looking for state diversity so I think being from Kansas may actually work in your favor as you may be one of the most qualified candidates from that state. I suggest you apply to UCLA and UCSD as well if you are interested in UC schools.

appplicant, Aquas98, shk909: Thanks you all for the advice! I will really be working on boosting my test scores. I’m taking the SAT IIs more for my super high reach schools (it can’t hurt to try, right? ), so yes I will only be submitting them if they are (hopefully) over 700. Thank you guys again!

I think you have a great chance! Like other have said, I would definitely try to bump up those test scores and look for some leadership positions but your grades are awesome! We actually have pretty similar applications. Good luck to you!
Chance me back pleaseee?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1617418-chances-at-duke-washu-william-and-mary-dartmouth-richmond-wake-forest-vanderbilt-brown.html#latest</a></p>

With your current stats, I would say high match. However, if you get your SAT I to a 2100-2200 and your ACT to a 33 or 34, your chances will improve by a lot. Like the others said, try and get leadership positions in your clubs. Big schools like UCB like to see that you are a leader. Also, with excellent teacher recs and a stunning essay, I think you should be able to make it in.

Thanks for chancing me

I’d say match as well, UCB may be the most selective public ivy (22% in 2012) but its ACT range is lower (27-33) than say UMich (29-33) which has a higher admissions rate (37%) so I wouldn’t worry too much about your score. I know you’ve heard this before but LEADERSHIP is key, even if it’s a small club it will still matter. Your scores and scheduale are strong but UCB doesn’t want a bookworm only. Your ECs are strong enough to carry you but being president/vice president of a few clubs would be all the better.

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1640591-chance-me.html#latest</a></p>

You have a really great chance. And like people said above me, raise that ACT score just a bit and get a leadership position for next year in one of those clubs. And with volunteering try to get over 100 hours!

I think you have a really good chance! Your ECs are great, you have a lot of APs. Try to improve your SAT, like they said above. 2200 is a good score to aim for. Make sure your essay is a standout. All that considered, it seems like a match for you.
