Chance me for UChicago, Northwestern, Ivies!!

Looking at-
University of Chicago
Northwestern
Columbia
Brown
Princeton
Penn
U of Illinois (safety)

Profile:
School: One of top public schools in IL.
Gender: Male
Year: Senior
Ethnicity: Asian (Indian)
GPA: 3.96 UW, 4.75 W.
Rank: 2/1100

Scores:
SAT I: 2350 (800 Reading, 780 Math, 770 Writing)
ACT: 35
SAT II: 770 Math, 760 Writing, 800 US History
AP: Taken tests in AP Comp. Sci A, AP World History (self study), AP Euro, AP Stats, AP Chem, AP US History, AP Human (self study), AP Calc BC, AP English, AP Spanish, AP Bio, AP Physics, AP Gov, AP Macro/Micro.
I got mostly 5's and 3-4 4's.
Basically, I took the hardest courseload possible, getting 5 AP's both my Junior and Senior years, and 2 my Sophmore and Freshman years. Took mostly Honors classes if I couldn't take AP, other than in Spanish, where my school doesn't offer any honors. Also took Calculus 3 Senior year through a dual credit program with U of I.

Extracurriculars:
JV/Varsity Cross Country Team (10-12)
JV/Varsity Track Team(10-12) (Both are top in state)
Played for Club Soccer Team outside of school (9-12)
Science Olympiad (9-12)
Student Council (10-12) Class Representative
WYSE Competition (10-12) Secretary
BPA-Business Professionals of America (10-12) Vice President
Scholastic Bowl (10-12)
Interact Community Service Club(10-12)
Spanish Honors Society(11-12) Treasurer

Volunteering:
Totaled up around 100+ hours, both through Interact and working at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. Also volunteered at the soccer club I play at as well as around my town with various events.

Essays and Recommendations will both probably be pretty good, but I doubt they will blow away the readers.

I feel my scores and EC's are strong, but will my lack of really amazing volunteering/essays/other stuff hurt my chances?

Also, one obstacle that I really had to overcome was that I had a moderate-severe stutter most of my high school career. Would the fact that I overcame that and both did very well academically and in leadership positions in my extracurriculars help me out in my application?

Thanks a lot everyone!!

Well.
You have a VERY impressive resume.
My mouth literally dropped when I saw your rank.
So I say that you are in almost everywhere you apply.

Your rank will get you in. I know the schools in Plano (a suburb of Dallas) have similar class sizes and I know that the valedictorian of each graduating class basically gets automatic entrance into any school.
and you sir…2 out of 1100 is very impressive, you’ll get in everywhere…probably, it will def make up for your lack of essay or whatever. IMO

Your school rank is godly haha

I worship you

You’ll get into at least 2 ivy leagues and one of stanford and MIT

Thanks for the replies, guys. Anyone else have any input?

bump (necro’d)

lol very good stats.

Just out of curiosity, how the hell can you be scretary for WYSE. Its a science competition that requires 0 financing and management/ notetaking. I just dont understand…

You lack awards.

I guess it all boils down to why pick you over the other 10000 Chinese/ Indian/ Korean kids with amazing scores/ rank.

Guestimations:
Princeton: reach
Columbia: reach
U of C: in (they only care about stats)
Brown: reach if you are unattractive, high match if attractive (“applicants are strongly encouraged to send in a photograph”)

I think you have a decent chance everywhere. You have nothing in particular that especially stands out about you, but your stats and ECs are solid.

jasoninNY is wrong when he says this:

Chicago weights ECs and especially essays VERY highly, so work really hard on those essays!

Good luck!

I go to Wharton and at least from what I see from the people around me, everyone as those stats. Of course, I’m not saying you won’t get in, but none of them are a guarantee. I’d say Princeton and Penn are a toss up (if you’re applying for Wharton). All others I’m pretty confident you’ll get in.

The people I see around me, some of them are running SUCCESSFUL businesses in their “free” time, taking 6-7 classes a semester, maintaining above a 3.8 GPA, and having leadership positions in clubs. crazy!

i think you’re pretty set, you’ll get in to at least one, if not all of the schools that you applied to.
