What are my reaches, matches, safeties???

In at 9-13,
NYU and Michigan are high matches/low reaches.
The rest are reaches. Your GPA is great and a superscore of 34 puts you in a good position, but the SAT IIs are going to bring you down if “the rest aren’t great.” Your ECs and awards are really generic. Nothing pops out at me and you don’t really show much of an interest to any one particular thing. You can definitely get into your reaches if you sell yourself through your essays and show them you’re not just another kid from an over represented minority.

ahh, yeah you’re right…I shouldn’t be too ambitious haha.
thank you so much!!

I’d agree with sumobats.

Idk what you mean by you shouldn’t be too ambitious. There isn’t a problem at all with you applying to those schools and you aren’t necessarily a bad candidate. Just those are tough schools to get into and you aren’t shining above everyone else. It’s okay. Not many are so amazing that the schools at the top of your list can be regarded on the match side simply due to the nature of the difficulty in getting in.

With regards to your Japanese, it won’t necessarily help you too much just by knowing the language and speak it fluently but you can definitely turn your culture/heritage and its influence into a good essay :).

ah okay I’ll apply and see what happens. thank you sooo much! :)

anyone elseeeeeeeeee?
